Alyse was only a child when the pills entered her household and changed the course of her life. They ultimately led her and her family down a permanent path of devastation. But who was at fault?

In a country where addicts’ stories have become a dime a dozen, we are desensitized to the devastating world of narcotics and the far-reaching impact each new prescription can have. What happens to the children who are left in the wake of such an epidemic?

Alyse bravely answers these questions as she delves into her own memories and shocking family secrets. What emerges is a surprising new meaning of family, support, and understanding.

What a powerful book! I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I want to thank the author for her honesty, and pain in writing this tale in hopes that it will change someone's life, and people's thoughts on the opioid epidemic. Her suggestions on getting people actual help through therapy and nutrition counseling instead of pills could truly be the most important answer or society needs right now. Thank you!

What a ride! The author's writing style makes you feel like you're talking to your best friend. It's very conversational and an easy read. What's not easy, however, is digesting the tragic content. It's an emotional toll to picture what this author went through, but I feel like it's a story worth reading. I hope her message can help bring about big change. Problems aren't solved by brushing them under the rug because they're uncomfortable. I'm so grateful this author was willing to be vulnerable and share her experience with the world.
